Can Vaping Really Change Your Life?
In one of the biggest clinical trials carried out to date, researchers from the University of Dundee, UK found out that smokers who turned to use vapes experienced ‘clear early benefit’ on their health.
Another study showed that former smokers who now vape are very likely to achieve more than 50% of the vascular health of a non-smoker in just 30 days!
The United States requires that all vape products must have submitted a Premarket Tobacco Application (PMTA) to be available in the markets and be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Hence, it is ultimately important that vape products meet required standards before being considered.
Vapes are otherwise known as e-cigarettes, but they are not the same as smoking in any way. While some think they are not totally safe, studies have however repeatedly shown that they are far healthier than smoking.
Vaping has been linked with numerous health improvements of former cigarette smokers who ditched smoking for vaping.
A study showed an increase of around 1.5% points in their blood vessel function within one month, compared to their unrepentant cigarette smoking counterpart.
Researchers add that if users are able to sustain the improvement gained from using vapes, in the long-term, people who have switched from smoking will enjoy a 13 percent reduction in cardiovascular conditions or incidents that can impact negatively on the heart muscle, such as heart attack.

Can vaping change your life?
As a result of its immense benefits, vaping can become a lifesaver to someone who smokes a lot, and can help such people quit their addiction to tobacco smoking, which deteriorates the smoker’s health. It is also widely embraced socially, and you’ll find much fun vaping with no worry of any potential smoking health hazards. Hence, the reason it is considered the best alternative to cigarette smoking. In the study carried out by a team of researchers from the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom, 114 addicted smokers who had smoked a minimum of 15 cigarettes per day for at least 24 months were recruited. They were reported to be free from established cardiovascular disease. Forty of the participants stuck with smoking cigarettes, 37 switched to e-cigarettes, while 37 others switched to e-cigarettes with nicotine. Overall results showed that participants who switched to e-cigarette had an improvement in their vascular health of 1.49 percentage points more than those who stuck to smoking. Another study showed that vaping users enjoyed 13 percent less of cardiovascular events for every 1 percentage point improvement in their vascular health. The researchers revealed that chain-smokers who turned to vapes saw an increase in their flow-mediated dilation (FMD) test from 5.5 percent to 6.7 percent at the end of 30 days. FMD helps to assess how far a blood vessel opens. Usually, the average FMD score of a healthy person who doesn’t smoke is 7.7 percent, indicating that the new vapers were around halfway close to attaining the average FMD score of a healthy non-smoker. There is a spike globally in the demand for vaping products, and as a newbie, here are some of the benefits of vaping you need to know.- It is not hazardous to your health. While smoking has been repeatedly linked to lung and mouth cancer, and cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, vaping does not generate any of such effects on the users’ health.
- It helps to quit an addiction to tobacco smoking. Evidence has shown that smokers who switched to vaping were able to quit smoking completely within three months.
- It is very affordable. A casual chain-smoker who uses a pack of cigarettes daily will spend at least $14,000 annually while vaping would cost just about $720 for a whole year!
- It is safe for the environment. Tobacco smoking plays a huge role in air pollution and greenhouse effects, and some discarded cigarette butts have caused fire incidences. Vaping however doesn’t generate any of these environmental hazards.
- It is easy to use. It causes no passive smoking effect and is now being embraced in diverse areas across the world.
